Liverpool Cricket Club on Aigburth Road has sold real ale for a long time. There are usually two ales on offer. On a recent visit one of these was from the new Dukeries Brewery in Nottinghamshire. Others are often supplied by the Marstons group.
John, the steward at the club, invites CAMRA members to drop in at any time to drink the ale.
We will be adding more pub pages for other areas within our branch, so please keep checking back. If you are a Liverpool and Districts CAMRA branch member and would like to produce a map of pubs in the area where you live, please let me know. You can also pick up a physical pub map from most pubs in Liverpool or download a copy from the website.
There is a lot of Bad and Good News at the moment regarding pubs. Bad news is the rate of pub closures. The good news is that Liverpool and surrounding areas seem to be 'bucking the trend' with new micro pubs opening. However this does mean our website might not always be 100% up to date. We are also seeing an increase in the number of pubs selling real ale for the first time or after a long absence. Again, please let us know.
If you are a visitor to Liverpool, or a supporter of locally brewed ale, please check out the locAle section. This lists local pubs selling local beer. That is beer that has traveled a maximum of 30 miles from brewery to pub. More information under 'what is locale'.
Some pubs do also offer discount to card carrying CAMRA members. Check out the 'pub discount' page for further details and a list of pubs.
And finally, lest not forget the history of our wonderful pubs. If you haven't already got a copy, you might be interested in our 'Historic Pub Guide'. Further details and where to buy under the Historic Pub Guide Section.
