ciderlogoLiverpool pub the Augustus John on Peach Street has scooped two prestigious awards. The pub has been awarded Liverpool & District branch "Cider Pub of the Year" for the second year running. It has also been awarded the "Merseyside & Cheshire Cider pub of the Year 2012" beating the Albion

in Warrington, the Harkers Arms in Chester and the Brass Balance in Birkenhead. Judges from Liverpool, North Cheshire and Wirral branches scored the pubs on cider range, cider quality and price/value for money. Whilst all the pubs had considerable merit each of the judges voted the "AJ" top overall.

The AJ now goes in to the Super Regional round with fifteen other regional winners. The Super Regional round is judged between May and July by APPLE committee members. Four finalists are taken from the Super Regional round and judged again between July and September to produce the national winner announced in October as part of the cider month campaign. Good luck AJ!!.
