Buccaneer BreweryThere will be a Meet the Brewer at the Queens Picture House, South Rd, Waterloo featuring Buccaneer Brewery from Sutton Weaver, near Runcorn on Monday, 28th August between 6pm - 8pm. They are a fairly new brewery and rarely seen on this side of the Mersey, so it’s an ideal opportunity to try their beers including Cap’n Red Beard (5%), Portside Pirates (4.5%), Splice the Mainbrace (4.4%) & Siren’s Lure (3.7%).

Head of Steam

Written by

HofS LogoThe Abbey on Hanover Street closed it’s doors suddenly in the last few weeks of June but all is not lost.
Soon after we received a Press Release from Head of Steam stating that this site has been identified as their new pub in the heart of the city centre. Some of you may remember the original HoS, which was located within Lime Street Station. It went into decline several years ago and eventually closed two years ago only to be re-developed / re-opened by Wetherspoon as The North Western.

The Head of Steam brand is now owned and operated by Camerons Brewery of Hartlepool and the Liverpool branch is the 11th site in their portfolio and will be based on the successful Sheffield site. The venue is due to open at the end the September and will feature an ‘island’ bar and will have 10 cask ale lines dispensing beers and real cider from around the region and beyond.

The food offering will include a brunch menu, a range of British pub classics, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options which will constantly be updated to offer a varied selection to customers.
