Hope you managed to visit a few pubs over the festive season and sample some beers from our local breweries.
Thank you for supporting the campaign over the last twelve months, the last couple of years have been challenging for pubs and breweries and the next twelve months aren't going to be any easier.
With the usual campaign to give up alcohol in January, this month pubs need all our support. What better way to start off the new year than to visit a pub you have never visited before, or try a beer that is new to you.
You could start the year by visiting some or all of the pubs that have gone through to the nomination stage in the search for our Pub of the Year 2023. Those pubs are:-
Suburban
Cask
Gardeners Arms
Jaxons
Little Tap Room
City Centre
Baltic Fleet
Bridewell
Grapes (Roscoe Street)
Lion
Pen Factory
Roscoe Head
Nominations for Branch Members are open via our website
Next month is Liverpool Beer Festival, both Friday and Saturday afternoon sessions have now SOLD OUT. Tickets for the evening sessions can be found here
We are also still looking for a small number of volunteers, particularly to help with set up on Saturday 12th February. If you are able to help please contact our Staffing Officer Sonia James-Henry at staffing@ liverpoolbeerfestival.org.uk
There are other things we would also like to do but are limited due to the size of the committee. If you would like to get involved, help with campaigning supporting pubs and breweries, and, of course socialising please let me know. I am available for a chat over a beer if you would like more information. Roles that we haven't been able to fill include that of Social Secretary, without a Social Secretary we are unable to organise any social events or walks. Another important role that we need to fill is that of Branch Secretary, this role involves, preparing agendas, taking minutes and booking meeting venues.
All the best for 2023
Mel
